How Pharmalight's LED light therapy works (Photobiomodulation/PBM/LLLT/light therapy/LED light therapy)

LED light treatment stimulates the production of ATP in the mitochondrion.
Mitochondria have an important role in metabolism, they produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is used as an energy source in most processes in the cells. Without ATP, cell functions cease. Increasing ATP production can make it easier for the cells to absorb nutrients more quickly and turn waste products into waste products. ATP provides the cells with the chemical energy that drives chemical reactions in the cells. ATP production is increased by LED light therapy because light at optimal wavelengths energizes the cytochrome b structure - so it can donate more electrons to the electron transport chain to increase ATP production.

LED light therapy reverses the cell death process and ensures cell repair.
After an injury, the cell quickly reaches a state where cell death is inevitable. If treated with LED light therapy immediately after the injury occurs, this process can be reversed by increasing ATP production.

Cellular rejuvenation
Once a cell dies, the body needs new cells to replace the damaged cells. LED Light Therapy prevents overproduction of scar tissue and provides faster cellular rejuvenation. This is of great importance for accident victims to increase the possibility of regaining full functionality. This rejuvenation process is seen in all cell types. Once a cell has been boosted with LED light therapy, they can regain normal function and form new blood vessels, nerve tissue, bone cells, cartilage, etc. LED light therapy does not cause cellular overgrowth or cancer – the cells are only charged to regain their normal function.

Healing of inflammation and increased lymphatic activity
Although the inflammation is necessary, it suffocates the cell. LED light treatment suppresses inflammation and helps the cell absorb nutrients and oxygen from surrounding tissue and blood vessels. LED light therapy relieves ischemia and stops the suffocation of the cell. Edema consists of two basically two components; a part with fluid that can be evacuated through the blood system and a proteinaceous component consisting of proteins that must be evacuated through the lymphatic system. Research has shown that the vessel diameter of the lymphatic system and the flow in the lymphatic system can be doubled with LED light treatment. Venous and arterial diameters may also increase. This means that both components of the edema can be drained more quickly to reduce swelling.

Increased activity in the immune system
Near-infrared light has been shown to increase immune system function. The exact mechanism by which this occurs has not been clarified, but several studies have shown a systemic effect in patients where LED light therapy was used. This means that local treatment of a wound with LED light therapy generally increases the effect of the immune system.

LED light therapy increases blood supply
Increases blood supply to areas by stimulating the formation of new capillaries and blood vessels to replace damaged ones. This speeds up the healing process by providing the cells with more oxygen and nutrients needed to heal the damaged cells. It also speeds up the removal of the waste products from the damaged area. PLACEMENT

Hold the cluster head against clean, dry skin on the area you wish to treat. Ensure good skin contact. Use light pressure and methodically move the device to the next area after each cycle.

TREATMENT DURATION

Each cycle lasts 16 seconds. Perform 3–5 cycles per area during each treatment session. For daily skincare, treatment is recommended in the morning or evening after cleansing.
